SPLASHES OF…HOPE! 5th AUGUST 2013
Hello there my dear Yahweh sisterhood!
Before I get into this week’s spashes.. here’s something to get you taking firm steps into August with shoulders back, head held high and overflowing with hope for a great month!! In the Dictionary “August” has a couple of meanings – which we can relate to, being “The King’s Kids”– such as : “Of Noble Birth or high rank being of “August Lineage” >>WOW! and “Dignified or imposing” being “An August Presence”! How awesome is this?! According to 1 Pet. 2 : 9 = “A Royal Priesthood” — this being you and me : the Priesthood of Believers! You’d better believe it!! No need for you to go dragging your feet, with faltering footsteps, through the new month, feeling beaten down now, okay?! The Presence of The King is right beside you!! Does that not demand a joyous Whoop! Whoop! from us? I think it does!
Just in case you have felt you’re “a stone’s throw” away from giving up lately – don’t!! Our GOOD and Great King Jesus has brought you “through thick and thin” to this point .. Well He has, hasn’t He?! So let’s stop for a “breather” on our journey, and splash our souls with some reminders from those, who long before our time, have given us guarantees that His Word is tried and true, and can be trusted by those who come in all the generations following….
My walk through my Bible took me to places that had me checking out all about stones, yes stones, and believe me, there’s an amazing amount of stories and incidents involving stones! I’m talking about none other than those things that can either be a “health hazard” as well as very useful in all sorts of ways, depending what we plan on doing with them . . either for good or for evil intent!! J I have large ones, small ones and pretty pink ones around my little garden in various areas, and they look very attractive! I think the gemstones I dug up can be helpful to us on the days when we run out of splashes of hope!
The people in : Josh. 3 : 14 – 17 had to totally trust their Leader, even when it meant getting to the banks of a flooding Jordan, believing that they were going to go through on dry land! As soon as the Priests toes touched the waters “the waters that came down from upstream stood still…the Salt Sea was cut off, and the people crossed over”.. on dry ground! And now, about “them stones” = from ** Josh. 4 [**which tells you this awesome story>> so please go read it will you?] … “The Lord told Joshua to command 12 men from the 12 tribes of Israel, to take 12 stones out of the middle of the Jordan , where the Priests feet were, and to carry them over to the other side with them, and leave them in the place they stayed for the night. Then, vs. 9 “Joshua set up 12 stones in the midst of the Jordan”. It was to be a memorial to the future generations of God’s faithfulness to His people…Who did there just as He had done at the Red Sea, where they also went through on dry land”.
1 Sam. Ch. 7 relates another powerful story of the Lord’s deliverance of the His people from the Philistines, when
Samuel offered burnt offerings and cried out to the Lord, and afterwards vs. 12 “Samuel took a stone and set it up…and called its name Ebenezer, saying thus far has the Lord helped us”. A stone of remembrance. And of course who can forget the young David who slew the Giant Goliath with his slingshot and just one little bitty stone?! I think we’ll go with the good uses of stones for today.
So there you are sisters, the ol’ enemy cannot knock you out stone cold no matter what he throws at you! Our God has not changed one iota, He is still the same Powerful, and Faithful, God as He always has been, Who promises to “uphold you with His Righteous Right Hand” as you journey along . . >>remember last week’s splashes!!
Come sisters step out with me now, splashed with hope and joy in our hearts, knowing our steps are “directed by the Lord”, into an awesome August. Jesus has a firm grip on us and He will not let go!
Love and hugs,
Rose.
