SPLASHES OF… HOPE! 16th AUGUST 2013
Hello Strong Handmaidens J have you splashed your way through this wet week with joy? I hope you did! After I sent off your Splashes… last week, I had the word “broken” in my head for the rest of the week ! If it’s Holy Spirit inspired it will just “stick” there, and so I know the Lord surely has something good in store for us today.
Every single one of us can relate to something that was or is broken…and I have no doubt the future won’t be without something getting broken, in one way or another! But let’s not see this in a negative way, okay, because our Abba Father doesn’t leave things that way. An old chorus from way back went something like this : “ Broken people, ruined lives are why You died on Calvary”… Now that starts us off with a jolly good splash of hope for better things to come, right sisters? Maybe one or more of us have experienced a broken body part at some time! Oh yes! And, speaking for myself a broken down vehicle somewhere on the road is just as familiar to me! And did you get your heart broken by a boy, or maybe by a couple of boys, during your teenage years? Sigh! I bet we can all relate to that one can’t we?! **But here we are….we made it , and we live to tell the tale!! J The O.T. Prophet Jeremiah said “My heart within me is broken” Jer. 23 : 9 – He’s not known as “The weeping Prophet “ for nothing! More so our Beloved Lord Jesus whose “Body was broken”..for me and for you! = 1 Cor. 11 : 24[b].
When I open my “Treasure Chest” I also discover many broken things in there. And my dear Yahweh sisters they infact splash my heart with hope for the future! You see….the devil will do anything, and everything in his power to break you down…that’s his ‘mission’! No matter what caused our hearts to be broken, we can recover from it “but who can bear a broken spirit?” = Prov. 18:14[b].
There’s several Scripture verses in Proverbs that mention the state of broken hearts and spirits, and also what the antidote is. I suggest you go dig in your own Treasure Chest and see what you find, dear sister, to make you ‘healthy’. Please do that, okay?
Now this is what Satan aims for . . . he comes to do huge mischief in our lives = JESUS calls him a “Thief, who comes only to steal, kill and destroy” = Jn. 10:10! He wants, more than anything, to steal our joy, kill our passion for Jesus, and to destroy our faith in our Lord! We have to declare war on him, or on anyone / anything coming against us, and determine that : “I won’t let the one who / or the thing that breaks me down break my Spirit”.
And how will we get that right? We used to sing a Scripture chorus that went like this : “But IF the SAME SPIRIT that RAISED Christ from the dead DWELLS in YOU”….from Rom. 8 : 11. GLORY!! Wow!! Now THAT is POWER beyond anything I know, how about you? And if we claim to be Blood bought, Blood washed Born again Believers in Christ, then WE HAVE that Powerful Spirit living IN US!! THAT’S how we do it!! We actually dare not live like broken down, devil-defeated Christians, EVEN WHEN our hearts are breaking over something, or someone … we CAN carry on walking in faith and victory! Believe me..I speak from “BUT GOD”… experiences!! I beg you … Go get yourself splashed .. no, wait .. make that soaked in GOD’s Awesome, Powerful Promises and you will find that hope, peace and joy will quickly flood your heart once more.
This has been an extremely difficult week for me as I have had to make a heart breaking decision, and tonight my heart is truly broken. But as I give you God’s powerful Word, His Holy Spirit gently and lovingly pours comforting splashes of peace into my very sad heart.
So now, for me personally, I understand why He impressed on my mind that particular word! He knew what was coming, and what I would need right now. How else would I be able to encouage you if Jesus doesn’t come and splash my own broken heart with His “oil of joy”? And so I can “put on the garment of Praise for my spirit of heaviness”.
I hope and pray the Lord will also use today’s Splashes… to minister into your life, dear sisters, because we do live in a broken down world which impacts each one of us from time to time in different ways. How very thankful I am that I have THAT amazing God-given POWER, which I will never allow the devil or anybody or anything to take from me!! Do you agree with me? You should!
And so for my broken heart I take to heart = 2 Cor. 4: 8-9 Message Bible that “surrounded and battered by troubles, but not demoralized…BUT GOD knows what to do, Spiritually terrorized, BUT GOD hasn’t left my side..thrown down but not broken”… and into the next week I go … armed and dangerous to the enemy , ready to use the Holy Spirit POWER that has been given to me! You as well! So…let’s go girls….. Remember: Only coffee breaks allowed! J
