SPLASHES OF … HOPE! 26th JULY 2013.
I do hope all is going well with you dear handmaidens of Yahweh on this beautiful, last Friday of July! See now, you’ve come through another month! We do declare that our God is a GOOD Father God!!
Take a look at your hands = have you ever given much thought about them apart from manicures and hand lotions? That’s the one word that kept going round in my mind for several days when I asked the Lord for inspiration on what He would like me to share with you today. As always it sends me off on a “treasure hunt” in my rich “treasure chest” and I never come up empty handed! The Holy Spirit always reveals just what we need = Thank You Lord Jesus!
I bet right now you’re thinking of a bunch of different expressions that include the word hand! Yep, I thought so!
Now we’re on the same page, here’s a few that came to my mind : What about those who are the younger sibling and have to wear hand-me-down clothing for a season whilst growing up? And we hand in a prescription at the Pharmacy—but we then have to foot the bill..heehee J High fives, waving, lifting, carrying, holding, taking care of ourselves and our families etc.etc., all require the use of hands. Talk about “multi-tasking” = wow = hands win hands down!!
When I think of programmes I’ve seen on TV where handicapped people have learnt to do amazing things using their mouths or their feet, then I am extremely thankful and grateful that my hands are in good working order! Many ministries who reach out to the needy call themselves names such as “Helping Hands” because of what they do.
Some years ago an advert of a Bank claimed to be “The Biggest, surest Helping Hand in the Land. Well I do declare that we have One even Greater than that, Who has The whole worldin HIS Hands!! More than that…let me make it very personal for you from Isa. 42:10 = “Fear not, I AM with you, be not dismayed, I AM your God, I will strengthen you..help you..uphold you with My righteous right hand”!! Our Awesome Father God!! Let that splash us good and proper and wash away all doubt and fear…right now!!
The most “famous” Handmaiden of all time has to be Mary, the mother of Jesus = Lk. Ch. 1, who, at about 14 yrs of age, was visited by the Angel with the news that SHE WAS CHOSEN BY GOD this awesome “role”. She simply said in vs. 38 “Behold, the handmaiden of the Lord! Let it be to me according to Your Word”..and again in vs. 48 “ The Lord has regarded the lowly state of HIS handmaiden, vs. 49 “He Who is Mighty has done great things for me”. Then there’s the young handmaiden *Esther [read all about that great story in *‘her’ Book], who was chosen for the King’s pleasure, and ended up his Queen, but the timing and purpose of her role in the palace led to the salvation of all the Jews! My “treasure chest” is so full of “gems” that I hate having to leave stuff out, but I hope I splashed you enough to whet your appetite sufficiently that you go digging up some awesome gems for yourself!
Now where does this leave me and you? Did you notice how often that word chosen pops up?!! Mmmm…I wonder … what have we been chosen by GOD to do for Him? After all, He gave us all Spiritual Gifts for various ministry service, so I’m wondering. . . have we all discovered that specially chosen Spiritual Gift, or Gifts, yet? And, are we using it? The hands of the clock are ticking away . . . “The end of all things is at hand” = 1 Pet. 4:7, so remember – -we mustn’t fritter away our time! We don’t know how soon it will run out for us, sisters, therefore “Whatever your hands find to do, work at it with all your might as to the Lord, and not for man” = Col. 3:23. I do know that there are plenty of “random acts of kindnesses” all around us that we can put our hands to, and be a blessing to others , doing whatever we do as unto our Lord.
Okay sweet handmaidens, go for it – – get out there next week and “Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and lending a helping hand” = Hebr. 10:24. You don’t have to tell me or anybody else = Matt. 6:3. ***God sees it and He records it for the rewards He will be handing out on “That Day”!
